Mersedeh Mohseni, along with her mother, are the petitioners of her brother Mojtaba Mohseni. Mojtaba Mohseni was arrested in 1983 and sentenced to death. The sentence was not carried out because Hossein Khomeini, the grandson of Khomeini, who was close to Mojtaba’s uncle, intervened and did not allow the sentence to be carried out. According to those incarcerated with him in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan,  Mojtaba’s friendly and kind personality was respected by other prisoners from every group and ideology. In 1988, Mojtaba was executed during the massacre of political prisoners. Since his death, Mersedeh, his mother, and the rest of the family have sought justice for Mojtaba Mohseni.
