On the morning of Saturday, November 16, 2016, Navid Behboudi returned to Quds from his modeling job in Isfahan to attend his friend’s wedding ceremony and meet his family. He was planning to return to Isfahan again on Monday, November 18, but on Sunday, November 17, he went to one of his friend’s shops in Sarqanat, Quds city. On his way to his friend’s shop, he ends up on “Amart” street near “Midan Azadi (Sarqanat),” where the security forces were busy shooting people from the roof of the surrounding buildings. A well-informed source close to Navid Behboudi’s family said in a conversation with Radio Zamane that the family went to the forensic doctor of Kehrizak to receive Navid’s body. This knowledgeable source adds: “The security forces put pressure on the family and conditioned the release of Navid’s body to bury him in Mahwizan (his father’s village).” Navid’s body was kept in the medical examiner’s office, and all body parts were cut open. Also, the security forces took a pledge from Navid Behbodhi’s father that he should not complain about Navid’s death in any way; otherwise, the body would not be handed over to them.
On Tuesday, November 19, 2019, the Behboudi family, who were not allowed to bury their son in Quds, moved Navid’s body to Mahwizan village near Gorab Zarmikh in the northwest Gilan province, accompanied by security officers and under severe security measures.
